Tips to help make your life easier.
One of the most common questions you may find The Wonders asking you in a private session is their infamous, “If you could do anything - absolutely anything - without fear, without judgment and without guilt, what would you do?”
It's a question that they will probably ask you regularly. It’s not a one-time thing. And it’s not a right or wrong answer situation either. It’s a question that, although posed as if they are waiting for you to come to a solid, defined answer, is a multilevel experience.
For example, the first time they ask a new client this question, the answers are often in the realm of “standard” occupations, hobbies or personal aspirations. Common answers to this question the first time around may be something like, “I would become an artist,” or “I would quit my job and make my own schedule,” or “I would travel to all the places I want to experience,” or perhaps even, “I would meet the love of my life.”
And The Wonders give personal, in-depth guidance in all of these areas and any other areas the individual chooses to move into and start exploring.
But if you get regular private sessions with The Wonders, it is highly likely that they will again ask you this question.
At first it may seem confusing. Why are they asking you again when you’ve already told them what you would do? The answer is simple – maybe there’s more that you haven’t given yourself a chance to acknowledge yet.
The second time they ask an individual this question, the answers seem to evolve. For example, lots of people start broadening the parameters. They may answer with, “I would prioritize the aspects of my life that bring me joy and make more time for them,” or “I would let go of the people and elements of my life that are no longer serving me,” or “I would open myself up to being loved by more people and loving more people,” or perhaps even, “I would take charge of my life more and stop procrastinating on the choices I have been wishing to make.”
But, then, if you continue getting sessions, you may find that this question comes back around… again.
And at this point, you may be thinking, what’s left? Why do they keep asking? What is it about this question that they keep coming back to?
The third time they ask an individual this question, the answers continue to change. It’s almost like, with every iteration, they become broader and broader. For example, an individual may answer with, “I want to be free to choose anything in the moment,” or “I would choose more, think less,” or “I would choose to stop listening to the negativity of my mind once and for all,” or “I would get through all of my fears so that they no longer hold me back,” or perhaps even, “I am not sure anymore. I want to keep exploring and see what else I want to experience before I die.”
Every time The Wonders ask you this question, they provide you with an opportunity to tune in to the parts of you that are usually placed on the back burner. Life gets busy, there’s an endless supply of things you have to do and there never seems to be the surplus of time we all desire. Yet, the parts of you that do want more still exist.
Maybe they’re just “dé·jà vu” moments where an awareness slips through the defenses of the busy, frenetic mind. Or maybe you hear a song or watch a movie and you are overcome with emotion, for seemingly no logical reason. Or maybe you’re falling asleep and you feel the same sense of longing you feel every night, but you don’t know what exactly you are longing for.
These seemingly small moments end up being crucial to answering the question with the depth and honesty that resonate with you on a visceral, core level. Although there will never be a right answer or perhaps even an answer you stick to that never changes, your ability to find an answer that brings up the innermost depths of yourself is always there.
By asking this question regularly, it offers an opportunity to bring up the things that begin the process of change in your life. In a way, this question can help you take off the blindfold of predefined beliefs, preconceptions, systematic judgments and ingrained behavior patterns.
Because if you take a moment to really, truly reflect on this question, without fear, without judgment and without guilt, what’s left? Who are you without them?
